Smart Cells Laboratory Grand Opening

February 8th marks the grand opening of our first laboratory in the Middle East, and our Group’s 14th laboratory worldwide. Smart Cells International, a proud member of FamiCord Group, has selected Dubai as its GCC hub for stem cell banking, demonstrating our dedication to advancing healthcare solutions in the Middle East.

We’re honored to play a role in the Gulf’s healthcare evolution and are committed to making a meaningful impact. The Smart Cells laboratory in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) was inaugurated by esteemed figures in the Dubai Governmental Sector.

Special recognition goes to Her Excellency, Dr Matar, the Founder and Chairperson of UAE Genetic Diseases Association, a leading healthcare influencer, she pioneered the study of genes, and advocates public education and awareness of genetic disorders across the ME region. The first Emirati woman to bear the title of Undersecretary to the Minister of Health in 2006 and the First Woman Director General in the Dubai Government. Her insights on regenerative medicine and its future impact on healthcare were truly enlightening.

Representing Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Healthcare City Authority were Faris Al Mazmi, Jaffar Bin Jaffar, and Salim Dahman, highlighting the collaborative spirit driving healthcare innovation in the region.

Jakub Baran, Co-founder, Shareholder, and President of the Management Board of FamiCord Group, and Shamshad Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Smart Cells International Ltd, shared their perspectives on this momentous occasion, underscoring our commitment to excellence in healthcare.
