Could you please provide a brief intro of your career/background?

Myself & my wife both work in the entertainment industry but I’m more known for being part of the British pop group, Steps.

Why did you decide to store your baby’s stem cells?

We decided to store Leo‘s stem cells because we wanted to safeguard his future.
If anything were to happen to him we have peace of mind knowing Leo has options for later on in life.

Had you heard about stem cell banking ever before? If so, where?

We’d heard of the phrase “stem cells” but didn’t know too much about it so when Marcelle from Mum&MeApp introduced us to Smart Cells, it was a no brainer for us.

What has your experience been like with Smart Cells?

Smart Cells have been extremely professional, informative and explained everything thoroughly so that we could fully understand how the process works from start to finish.

Did the process work as you had expected it to? Did you find it to be an easy process?

The actual process on the day was incredible. When Kerry went into labour, I gave the Smart Cells box to a nurse who made sure it was given to the Smart Cells phlebotomist who had arrived in perfect time & set her station up without us even knowing she was there.

When Leo finally arrived the lady collected what was needed working closely with the hospital staff and neither of us knew it had even happened.

To say it was an easy process is an understatement, it was almost done in “stealth” mode. It meant that we both could concentrate on the birth and not worry about what was happening outside of this behind the scenes.

Are there any obstacles that would have prevented you from using our service?

There is nothing that would prevent us from using Smart Cells again.

What would you say to a friend or colleague who was thinking of using Smart Cells?

I would honestly say do it. The fact that the process is so simple and the outcome of retrieval could save our child’s life is definitely something we would recommend to friends and family.

Would you recommend this service to others? If so, why?

We have already recommended to friends and family and believe a friend has already booked in with Smart Cells as a result of our recommendation.

What would be your advice to any parents who are looking into storing their baby’s stem cells?

Like any parent, you want the best for your child and their future, so if you do have the money, we feel it’s such a great investment. I’d also reassure them that it’s an easy process that you don’t have to worry about. It’s that simple.
